Resources and services for parents plus tip sheets on parenting, raising kids and separation issues for Dads, Mums and other carers.
Parents, couples or individuals seeking counselling or relationship education courses - run in small groups or online - may like to explore the services offered by Relationships Australia Victoria, one of the DadsLink partners.
Parents or other family members - whether together or separated - needing information about family relationship issues, ranging from building better relationships to dispute resolution, can visit the Family Relationships Online website or call the Family Relationships Advice Line on 1800 050 321.
The above website or advice line can help you locate a Family Relationship Centre in your area to assist with managing relationship issues, including agreeing on appropriate arrangements for children after parents separate.
Parents and other carers of children aged from birth to eighteen in Victoria can ring the Parentline telephone counselling service on 13 22 89 from 8am to midnight 7 days a week to explore parenting and relationships issues.
We plan to add more tip sheets, references to books on parenting, and so on, in due course, but hope that fathers, mothers and others who care for kids will find this set of suggestions for Connecting with your Kids helpful.
You can also read this article from the Herald Sun Father does best which mentions the DadsLink program, discusses fatherhood and explores how mothers can help build stronger relationships between fathers and children.
This list of resources and tips for parents is maintained by the DadsLink Coordinator, Akiva Quinn.
