In an Australian industry first, YMCA Victoria will team up with Foxtel Australia to deliver Foxtel Music in our managed facilities across the state.

The new service will tailor music to the different areas within a recreation centre, providing our members and patrons a one-of-a-kind experience when they visit the Y.

“We can have upbeat music in the gym, while a more relaxed style plays in the café,” says Troy Walker, Health and Wellness Manager at YMCA Victoria.

The service has additional localised scheduling abilities to ensure members only hear announcements and messages relevant to them.

Every year, YMCA Victoria facilities are visited 18 million times. Foxtel Business Director, Raelene Smethurst, explains that the vast majority of gym goers will benefit from this new service.

“Only a quarter of those people plug in their headphones when they’re working out,” said Raelene.

“So by playing great music throughout the facility everyone who visits the Y can enjoy their time even more, all whilst featuring more Australian artists, supporting our local music industry.

The service will initially be rolled out to 15 metropolitan and rural YMCAs across Victoria with expansion to additional YMCA facilities by the end of the year, so listen out for the change next time you’re in centre.

We are thrilled to be offering Foxtel Music, which is powered by Stingray streaming service.
