YMCA Victoria is excited to announce a newly established partnership with the Mother’s Day Classic, bringing together our two annual fun run events.

The Mother’s Day Classic has been an iconic Melbourne event for decades, so when the YMCA began the YMCA Father’s Day Fun Run in 2016, it was only a matter of time until the two became partners.

A few months after the inaugural YMCA Father’s Day Fun Run, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed – both committing to getting more families active on these important occasions.

“We are delighted to be working with YMCA Victoria. Our event has a strong element of fun and fitness attached to it and we feel the YMCA is a perfect partner,” Sharon Morris, Mother’s Day Classic Foundation CEO.

YMCA Victoria Corporate Partnership Manager, Sue Hendy, echoed Sharon’s sentiment, highlighting the importance of supporting healthy, happy lifestyles.

“The YMCA is all about healthy, happy communities every day of the year,” said Sue.

“Partnering with the Mother’s Day Classic and encouraging more people to get active with their families this May was a perfect fit.”

The 2017 YMCA Father’s Day Fun will officially launch at the Mother’s Day Classic this year, with registrations opening and YMCA activities for families to check out in the event village.

The Mother’s Day Classic will be held on Sunday 14 May at the Tan Track in Melbourne’s CBD, in conjunction with regional events across the state. You can register today by visiting http://www.mothersdayclassic.com.au/
