YMCA Victoria is proud to announce a new partnership with the Melbourne Stars. Both the Y and the Melbourne Stars are dedicated to increasing physical activity, strengthening social connections and enhancing mental wellbeing in the community.
The initial focus of the partnership will be in the City of Casey and the new Indoor Cricket Facilities at the YMCA-managed Casey Stadium. We have proudly been working in the Casey community for over 20 years and the Melbourne Stars are an ideal partner organisation to help grow the sport of cricket in the region.
“We’re extremely excited to be working with the Melbourne Stars,” said Wade Mackrell, YMCA Victoria General Manager Recreation.
“Not only are they a fantastic sporting organisation, but they are invested in increasing community wellbeing through physical activity.”
Clint Cooper, Melbourne Stars CEO, is also proud and excited about the partnership.
“Our values align in encouraging Victorians to keep active and healthy. We’re excited to bring this partnership to life at match by giving young Stars fans the opportunity to get active on field on the hallowed turf at the MCG,” said Mr Cooper.
In light of the new partnership, the Y has been cheering on the Melbourne Stars in this year’s Big Bash League and we’ll be back at the MCG on Sunday 10 February, where the Stars will take on the Sydney Sixers. Come say hey to Y team outside Gate 3!
