The young people that we employ have either offended or are at risk of offending. Often, they are young people who have been through our YMCA Bridge Project or engaged in the YMCA ReBuild Workshop at Ravenhall Correctional Centre (which provides participants the opportunity to learn and develop a wide range of basic maintenance and handyman skills).
Each YMCA ReBuild crew typically consists of two to three people depending on the size of the job. A crew is made up of;
-
Crew Leader: We employ experienced crew leaders to coach, mentor and supervise our young people
-
Crew Member: Crew members are young people sourced from a multitude of areas including the Department of Human Services, Department of Corrections and various job service agencies.
Each young person employed by YMCA ReBuild undergoes a thorough individual risk assessment including National Police Checks and Safeguarding Young People Training.
