Our people are the heart and soul of the work we do with communities. They give their all every day and deserve to receive the right pay and entitlements. I regret deeply that pay errors have occurred at YMCA Victoria.
Contrary to some reports you may have seen in media, we are taking a proactive and robust approach to resolving these issues. When we identified potential pay errors affecting one of our service lines, during a program of work to upgrade our time and attendance system, we voluntarily notified the Fair Work Ombudsman.
YMCA Victoria takes seriously its responsibilities to our largely young workforce. For many of our people, working at YMCA Victoria is their first job. We want it to be a positive experience.
I have given my commitment to staff – and I can also reassure the community – that we are doing everything possible to make this right, at an individual pay packet and system level. Whenever we have identified any issues, we have promptly resolved them by providing back pay. We will continue to address any remaining issues as necessary, as well as significantly investing in our rostering, time and attendance system to prevent future errors.
