At the Y we believe in the power of inspired young people. For young people to be inspired, we know they need to feel safe and be safe. That is why the Y is independently reviewed by the Australian Childhood Foundation (ACF) to ensure our services are safe for all children and young people.
During April and May, Y Victoria participated in its biannual Safeguarding Licensing Standards Review with the ACF, involving staff and volunteers right across the organisation, including Board members, senior staff and frontline employees and volunteers.
“I’m proud to announce that Y Victoria achieved an ‘Excellent’ rating - the highest score a Member Y can receive out of a possible four ratings,” said CEO Carolyn Morris.
“Ensuring that children and young people not only feel safe and are safe at the Y, but also thrive, is our highest priority.
“Whether children and young people are learning to swim with us, playing sport with us, or going to outside school hours care or camps with us our ACF result is a sign of assurance for parents and partners that we are a safe place for children and young people at all Y Victoria programs, services and facilities.”
