Bass Coast Aquatic & Leisure Centre Wins 2023 AUSTSWIM Award

Bass Coast Aquatic & Leisure Centre has been named the '2023 AUSTSWIM Victorian Centre of the Year' in the Small Category. The award recognises our team's exceptional work and innovative strategies within the aquatic industry—a testament to our passionate team.

It was fantastic for the teachers to be recognised for all their effort and passion they’ve put into our program Aquatics Coordinator, Khy Blizzard

I’m extremely proud of what has been achieved within that space and environment. The whole team can be very proud of where it went from and where it’s at now. We’ll continue to build on that in the future.Former Centre Manager, Glenn Marsham

Applications for the Youth Aquatic Accreditation Program have been extended until 31 May 2024. This allows for more free opportunities for aspiring swim instructors and more young people making waves in the aquatics industry.

The program provides assistance to young people undertaking accreditation to ensure they are qualified to teach swimming and water safety.

Additionally, 16-year-olds are now also eligible to participate in the program and it will now offer the opportunity to learn to teach people with a disability how to swim.
