Y Victoria is deeply saddened by the sudden death of industry leader Simon Weatherill, while he was participating in the Portsea Swim Classic last weekend.

Simon’s wife Jacqui is the Chair of Y Australia and our deepest condolences go out to Jacqui and the family at this difficult time.

In his earlier days, Simon was Y Victoria’s first centre manager for Ashburton Pool and Recreation Centre. He went on to become a long-running CEO of Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC), CEO of the State Sports Centres Trust and on numerous boards and committees.

Simon’s passion for the recreation industry in both Victoria and Australia was renowned. He personally supported many of the leaders of today and he leaves behind many friends who remember him with gratitude.
