A Breakfast Like No Other

A member breakfast like no other! SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre members shared the morning with Australian Olympians Michael Klim OAM and Kyle Chalmers, hosted by Nine's Brenton Ragless.

For Klimy, SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre (SAALC) holds special meaning—he officially opened the centre in 2011, and his last competitive swim was at the London 2012 trials right here.

He spoke openly about his battle with CIDP, a rare autoimmune disorder that has affected his mobility and requires lifesaving blood infusions every six weeks, made possible by dozens of generous donors.

And he’s not alone. 1 in 3 of us will need blood or blood products in our life, that’s why we’ve teamed up with Australian Red Cross Lifeblood to encourage our members and staff to join Team SAALC and donate blood or plasma.

Kyle reflected on his Olympic journey, and together, he and Michael reminded us that life is better when shared—just like in a relay, where teamwork brings out the best in each other. Their defining Olympic swims didn’t just earn medals—they changed the sport.

We also celebrated our partnership with Fleurieu Milk, reducing plastic waste by offering Milk on Tap refills in glass bottles. By choosing this sustainable option, our members and customers have helped keep tons of plastic waste out of landfill.

The next day they took to the pool deck, passing on their experience to the next generation of Olympians through a series of clinics, inspiring the champions of tomorrow.

Great company and a little inspiration to kick-start the day.
