Merri-bek’s outdoor pools opened for the summer season over the weekend, with warm weather on Saturday drawing strong early numbers.
The season launch marks the start of the Summer of Fun program, a community events series that runs across all Merri-bek pools through Summer. The program includes family days and the return of well-known favourites Pups by the Pool, the Active Merri-bek Fun Run and the Inclusive Gym and Swim Nights.
Coburg Olympic Swimming Pool has reopened with newly refurbished male and female changerooms, a new gender-neutral change space and refreshed pool areas. Pascoe Vale has completed behind the scenes plant works to ensure smooth operations across the warmer months. Oak Park is always popular with the iconic large water slides and open grass areas.
Brunswick Baths will bring back its Friday night tunes by the pool, with weekly DJ sets by the outdoor throughout January.
Fawkner Leisure Centre is celebrating twelve months since reopening with inflatables and activities for all ages.
Merri-bek outdoor pools will again lean heavily into water safety. Teams have filled their summer rosters following extensive induction and training. Lifeguard will numbers increase on high heat days.
