Three big wins for the Y at the ARV Industry Awards

YMCA Victoria celebrated a standout night at the Aquatics and Recreation Victoria Industry Awards, taking home three major wins at this year’s event, which marked ARV’s 50th anniversary.

Held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre and hosted by 9News presenter Stephanie Anderson, the evening recognised excellence across the sector.

Community Impact of the Year went to the Y’s Positive Pathways Program at Gippsland Regional Aquatic Centre. Delivered in partnership with Blue Light Victoria and funded by the Federal Government, this uplifting program supports young people at risk of entering the justice system connecting them with mentors, structure and a strong sense of belonging.

Facility of the Year (Small) was awarded to North Melbourne Community Centre, recognising a powerful, community-led transformation. Managed by the Y on behalf of the City of Melbourne, the new programming has been shaped by the people who use the space every day, including local young people from diverse backgrounds.

And Facility Management Award (Seasonal) went to Mirboo North Outdoor Pool, a much-loved community asset that has been serving South Gippsland since 1904.

A number of the Y’s individual super stars were nominated as well as projects such as Get Set Kensington for the vibrant community opening of the Kensington Community Aquatic and Recreation Centre.

Thank you to Aquatics and Recreation Victoria for the recognition and opportunity to celebrate excellence. Congratulations to every team and nominee across the industry.

If you were shortlisted, it’s because you’re making an impact.
